Project Overview

After independence, Durgapur Steel Plant was one of the first major steel plants set up in india with a rated production capacity of 1.25 million tonnes ingots and 0.4 million tonnes pig iron per annum. The Company, in collaboration with Cementation (U.K.), executed the entire civil engineering works for Durgapur Steel Project in 1957, then the biggest contract ever awarded to a single agency. The venture Cementation - Patel formed a vital organ in the 14 member ISCON Consortium set up for Durgapur Steel Plant.
The work included building and machinery foundations, concrete piles, building structure, railway tracks, roads and services like water supply and drainage
